The 2026-27 FAFSA for current Seniors attending college

in the 2026-27 school year will become available October 1st!
 


Our local ISACorp professional will be at St. Bede to answer your questions about the FAFSA. Click here for a list of dates and contact information.
ALL Families should submit the FAFSA, even if you think you won't qualify for the free money or grants. 
This is required if you need student loans. It will also be required in order for you to collect any scholarshps you are awarded by thre college you attend.

This video was recorded as a live webinar. When the presenter says "today" that means Oct 1, 2025.  The presenter is a representative from Carthage College in Wisconsin but this info is applicable no matter what college you plan to apply to. The FAFSA completion process is the same for any college.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid

  • All Seniors attending a 2 or 4 year college should complete the FAFSA no matter what your family income!
  • Many scholarships require FAFSA completion even if you are not eligible for federal/state funding.
  • Students are reminded to complete and submit the FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov their senior year as soon as it becomes available and again for every year you will attend college. 
  • Federal/state moneys are distributed on a first come/first serve basis. Students are encouraged to file as soon as possible.   
  • MAP Grant money (free money!!) runs out earlier every year. File early to make sure you don't miss out!
  • ISAC reps are available to help all students and families with FAFSA completion no matter what college they plan to attend. They are trained in FAFSA completion and can answer all your questions.

  • Always check the financial aid/scholarship web page on the website of any college you are serious about attending to find valuable scholarships.  You will be automatically considered for some when you apply to the college but others will require additional applications or paperwork.  Some scholarship applications may be due before you know if you are even accepted to the college.
