Why do we use Parchment to send transcript?

SBA students are required to submit all transcript requests using Parchment. The most important reason that students are required to use Parchment is because it provides the benefit and security of being able to track the delivery of your transcript. Parchment provides a record of the date your transcript was ordered, the date it was received and downloaded by the college.  There is no way to track transcripts mailed through USPS.  Colleges receive tens of thousands of transcripts during their application season.  It can take 4-6 weeks for a college to acknowledge and record the receipt of a transcript received through USPS.  This causes stress for the applicant and a lot of extra work and phone calls for high school and college admissions counselors trying to locate "lost" transcripts. The electronic tracking information provided by Parchment is crucial when deadlines are an issue.

How Do I Send My Official SBA Transcript to a College or Scholarship Provider?

Alumni - beginning with the class of 2013 all students are registered to use Parchment and must use it to submit a transcript request. If you do not remember your username or password click FORGOT MY USERNAME or FORGOT MY PASSWORD on the Parchment log-in page to have it reset. If you've done this and still need assistance click HERE to go to the Parchment Help Center.  If needed, go to the bottom right corner of the Parchment web page and click on Contact Us.
Alumni who graduated before the class of 2013 can go to the Academy website
, click on ALUMNI > REQUEST A TRANSCRIPT and follow the directions on the form.

How do I send my official test scores?

Test Scores
Many colleges will require a copy of your test scores sent from the testing company. Go to the websites below to submit a request to send your official scores to every school that requires it.
ACT      www.actstudent.org
SAT      http://sat.collegeboard.org/home
TOEFL https://www.ets.org/toefl/
AP
www.apscore.org

Your ACT scores will appear on your SBA transcript.  Some (not all) colleges will accept this in place of receiving official ACT scores directly from ACT.  Some colleges will still require that you send your scores directly from ACT. Make sure you know what each college requires and order early so scores are received before the application deadline.

Facts about your Transcript

  • What information is included on my transcript? Your  transcript will list all of the courses you have taken, grades and credits earned by semester beginning in 9th grade, your cumulative weighted and unweighted GPA and your ACT scores.
  • Most colleges and universities will require applicants to submit a current copy of your "Official" high school transcript at the time of application, at the end of the 7th semester and again at the end of your senior year.
  • Class Rank does not appear on the official transcript.  SBA does not officially report class rank.
  • If an "Official" transcript is required it must be sent to the college or university directly from your high school. This is what makes the transcript “Official”.
  • Some colleges will request student-reported or self-reported courses and grades instead of an official transcript at the time of application. An official transcript may not be required until the time of admission. Be sure that course names and grades reported match exactly to what appears on the official transcript to avoid the appearance of dishonesty or careless errors.
  • All students must submit transcript requests using www.Parchment.com . Ms. Bernabei will assist students in Parchment registration near the end of their Junior year.
  • There is no fee to register at www.Parchment.com
  • There is no fee to the student to send transcripts to most schools using Parchment.
  • It will be necessary for you to request a copy of your FINAL (eighth semester) transcript to be sent to the college you will attend. This request must be submitted through Parchment. This can be done at anytime before the end of the semester by selecting HOLD FOR GRADES when completing  your transcript request.
